Federal Type SD10-T Dual Tone Siren

Perhaps thee best sounding air raid/fire siren of all time.. The SD10T ( Special Duty 10 horsepower T = dual tone) Introduced by Federal Enterprises in 1952. Although, designed as a dual tone siren strictly for air raid Civil Defense, many SD10's found their way into the fire service under the matching funds act of 1954. The SD10's proficiently engineered outer housing amplifies it's sound output outward in all directions rating it a much louder, robust and more affective siren over distance than it's sister counter part sirens Type 5T & 7T. The 5T and 7T sirens use the same rotor and stator of the SD10 but the SD10's outer housing shroud turns it into a better sounding siren.
